Do I need a Referral from a doctor to attend the clinic?
No, attending our clinic can be done on a self referral basis although we do have GP’s and consultants who refer to us.
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
If you have a leg or back injury please bring a pair of shorts. Females with neck or shoulder injuries should bring a vest top. If the injury is related to running bring your normal trainers for running as you may be assessed on a treadmill.
What will my first appointment involve?
Your initial assessment will involve a through history taking off your injury, previous injuries and full medical background. A through assessment of your posture, injured area and related areas should then allow accurate diagnosis to be made. We will then discuss an appropriate plan for your condition and treatment will be administered.
Do I need to bring someone with me?
For clients aged less than 18 we require an adult to attend with them at all sessions. If over 18 and you feel more comfortable attending with a friend feel free to do so.
I have private medical insurance, can I use this for my treatment?
At The Newry Clinic we are registered with all Major Insurance Companies. Please phone the clinic on 02830269733 and we can provide you with our provider number.
Usually the insurance company will require you to get a referral from your Doctor first. Then phone your insurance company and they should provide you with an Authorisation code and inform you how many sessions of physiotherapy you are entitled to.
If I have Acupuncture can I still donate blood?
At The Newry Clinic we are AACP registered which is recognised by Blood Donation Service allowing continued Blood Donation.
